David Esparaz, MD

Dr. Esparaz earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine and completed his Anesthesia residency and Chronic Pain fellowship through the University of Illinois at Chicago Medical Center/UI Health.

During his time spent at the University of Illinois at Chicago, he was named Anesthesia Chief Resident and awarded Anesthesia/Chronic Pain Fellow of the Year.

Dr. Esparaz specializes in interventional pain management, and he aims to make accurate diagnoses through history, physical examination, and imaging.

Additionally, he utilizes a multimodal and balanced approach to therapy which includes physical rehabilitation, medication management, behavioral therapies and interventional pain treatments.

His expertise resides in the management of axial spine pain and associated nerve pain as well as other chronic pain disorders such as fibromyalgia, migraines, and peripheral joint pain including knees, shoulders, and hips.

He has an interest in neuromodulation and alternative treatments for all chronic pain disorders.

After fellowship, he began working as a private practice physician out of Cleveland, Ohio and was an affiliate of University Hospitals in Cleveland. He was selected as a Cleveland Top Doc 2023 voted on by other physician colleagues and served as an Associate Professor for Ohio University to mentor 3rd and 4th year medical students with an interest in anesthesia/pain management.

He moved back to Chicago after 3 years as his family was growing. He is excited to provide compassionate care to all patients at Premier Pain and Spine.
